Trouble Ahead

As the days go by the dreaded finals get closer. Each and everyday getting closer. Like a lion stalking its prey laying in wait, just teeming with anticipation. Then in a flash overwhelming its prey. This is how many students see the finals, but not I. I unlike most people enjoy taking tests and quizzes. I always score well and I never stress. I'm actually calmer when it comes to finals. I always go in with a calm clear head and come out of the situation with a high sense of accomplishment, normally followed by some good scores. I approach the finals the way I approach my life calm with a clear head. All though I'm still waiting to see if I come out on top..

Persuasion!!!

Image from: http://www.blgconsultinggroup.com/blog/?Tag=Six%20principles%20of%20persuasion

I find it really hard to chose a method that I will stick to when I think that numbers 2 and 4 all apply to my topic. Numbers 2 and 4 are as follows Be creative and use humor in building your case and Use real life experiences or stories. I think that I will probably use humor to draw my audience in, or to get them listening. Next I will from there I will relate to them using real life experiences. So as I said I find it rather difficult to actually chose only one when my vision for my speech is about a 50/50.

And Thus It Begins

Tomorrow i begin the long process of learning and performing my keyboarding final begins. I've narrowed down my selection of music composers to two... Bach and some guy who's name I can't even think of where to begin to spell it correctly. Both pieces should be a blast to play but also extremely difficult compared to my previous projects. I can't wait to begin on it (or so I say now, ask me in about a month if I still enjoy it). Regardless this should be a very interesting final.

Beatrice

http://goodbadandugly2.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/wicked-witch2.jpg

The reason I like Beatrice so much is because of the controversy she can cause by just walking into a room. She is obviously a caring woman but do to past afflictions that have emotionally scarred her. She no longer is able to express any love for anyone or thing due to the teasing through her childhood. I chose a witch as her picture because I think it fits the best. She can be heartless and cold but at the same time she is also misunderstood.

A Raisin in the Sun

A Raisin in the Sun is my favorite movie this semester. The reason it is my favorite one is because there are several family troubles. But regardless of these family troubles they still stay strong and stick together. If someone threatens their family all of them stand tall together to face the problem. I find it rather inspiring actually. The reason I chose this picture is because it represents a broken home. But no matter what happens to the foundation it is still standing strong. Which reminds me of the entire Younger family.

Triumph in the Face of Adversity

To triumph in the face of adversity is to overcome obstacles no matter how big or small they might be. But it is also more then that. It is a matter of seeing your glass half full, instead of half empty. So with no matter what you face you are always looking for a bright side, in order to overcome what lies ahead.
One example of this is when Tillie wins the science fair. Due to the position that her mother has basically forced them into. She is forced to overcome the constant verbal beat downs by her mother. The reason for me choosing this picture is because no matter what you face, with enough dedication you can achieve it. You can grab the key of success and open the door to an all new world.
Another I think would be how even though her mom is hateful and cruel she still seems to find the bright side of things. Viewing her glass of water as half full.

Self-Image

Self-Image is a matter of how one sees themselves. If you worry about your self-image you might constantly beat yourself down about how you look only making a bad situation worse. Someone who doesn't necessarily care about their self-image has a much more relaxing life. I choose this picture to represent self-image because I thought it did it justice. Simply because you might not always see someone the same as they see you. Everyone's view is different, and the only important one is yours.
An example from our story would be how Ruth is always wearing form fitting clothes. She cares to much on what people think and how the see her.
An contrasting example would be how Tillie is the opposite. She is more worried about her future and what is going to happen then her clothes and what others think.
